The Law of the Lord

Today is a day of rejoicing in the New Law which Christ has given to us and which unites us with Him, binds us together as His people, and enables us to work together for His Kingdom.  We listen to the words of the Law and ponder them in our hearts.

Jan27th – Holocaust Memorial Sunday. Communities are encouraged to remember millions who have lost their lives due to persecution and genocide. We pray for the Jewish people: “Listen to your Church O Lord, as we pray that the people you first made your own may arrive at the fullness of redemption, through Christ our Lord. Amen”

Fresh flowers(Newtown): Please could you bring a few fresh flowers for the altar – instead of using silk flowers

First Holy Communion: Please give the names to Fr Johnson of children, over 7yrs of age, whom you consider ready to receive their First Holy Communion in June of this year.(important:do they attend Mass regularly with appropriate reverence?)

Funeral Arrangements of father J Owen Hardwicke RIP: It will take place as follows.The reception of his body will take place at 6pm on Wednesday 23rd January at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Llay, followed by a vigil of prayer, music and readings. Fr Owen’s funeral Mass will be on Thursday 24th January at 11 am , Cathedral Church of our Lady of Sorrows, Wrexham on followed by committal at Pentre Bychan crematorium at 1.30 pm.
